Under $10 Harry Potter Wreath
As promised I am here to share with you something I made which combines three of my fave things. Crafting, Halloween, and Harry Potter. As you’ve probably already realized by the title of this post I am going to share with you how I mad this really easy and super cheap harry potter Halloween wreath. In yes you guessed it under $10.
First of all we need to make a quick stop at your local Dollar Tree where you will be able t find Everything yes I mean everything you will need for this wreath.
Supplies
2 or 3 Black Mesh Rolls (Depending on how tight you want to pack your wreath with mesh) I used about 2 ½ for mine,
1 roll of a different colored Mesh ( you can do traditional orange like I did or you can get the color of your fave house any slytherins out there?)
1 package Mesh tubing for accents.
1 package pipe cleaners in a matching color
1 Wire wreath base
1 pair Scissors
And the part that brings all together this awesome happy Halloween sign in the Harry Potter style lettering.
I knew there was a ton of different styles for mesh wreaths so i had to choose one i liked best i finally settled on the style i wanted. Then i had to figure out how to actually make it.
I searched all over for a good instructional videos on how to make the actual wreath part and after watching quite a few videos i finally found one that left me feeling confident i could pull it off. This one here is very helpful and clear. I followed her instructions for the most part using the materials i had. Hers is allot more embellished which is totally cool if that's what you're going for, however for mine i wanted simpler design.
Finally the Happy Halloween sign originally came in black. Which i decided was not popping as much as i wanted it to so i painted it orange and sprinkled some glitter to match my accent color and voila. The paint i used was from the brand Apple Barrel in the color Pumpkin Orange. It only cost me $.50 so it still kept me under my $10 budget for this project.
I love how it turned out. Plus it was so fun to make. I even managed to get my hands on a couple of extra Happy Halloween signs before they where all snagged and in celebration of my first official craft post i decided i would do a little flash give away. I will be gifting one each to the first two people to comment what colors you want to make your wreath in and share this post on any social media platform . (this is for the happy Halloween signs only, i will leave the wreath making part to you. I wouldn't want to take all the fun away)
thanks for stopping by and good luck to everyone. -Nat
